Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has introduced the Activa e: the electric counterpart to its best-selling Activa scooter. With this launch Honda aims to solidify its position in the growing electric vehicle (EV) market mirroring the dominance of the petrol-powered Activa in the Indian two-wheeler segment.

The Activa e: is powered by a mid-mounted motor generating 6kW of power and 22Nm of torque comparable to a 110cc petrol scooter. It features two swappable 1.5kWh batteries offering a claimed range of 102km on a full charge.

Key Features of Honda Activa e:

The Activa e: comes in two variants: Standard and Honda RoadSync Duo. Both variants feature all-LED lighting a key fob a charging port and three riding modes – Econ Standard and Sport – along with a reverse mode.

  • Standard Variant:
    Equipped with a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster displaying speed odometer range battery level trip meter and riding mode information. However it lacks smartphone connectivity.
  • Honda RoadSync Duo Variant:
    Comes with a larger 7-inch TFT display offering smartphone connectivity with features like navigation call and music controls live tracking maintenance alerts and OTA updates.

Both variants boast a telescopic front fork a 3-step adjustable rear monoshock front disc brake rear drum brake and 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. The scooter also provides 171mm ground clearance and weighs between 118-119kg depending on the variant.

Pricing Availability and Rivals

The Honda Activa e: is expected to launch in January 2025 with deliveries beginning in February 2025 in cities like Bengaluru Mumbai and Delhi followed by other major cities. Honda offers a 3-year/50 000km warranty along with three free services and complimentary roadside assistance for the first year.

Priced around ₹1.3 lakh (ex-showroom including subsidy) the Activa e: will compete with premium electric scooters like the Ather 450X Ola S1 Pro TVS iQube Bajaj Chetak and Vida V1.

The Honda Activa e: combines Honda's trusted legacy with modern EV technology promising a compelling option for eco-conscious urban commuters.
